Hacking the BluePrint Cleanse: How to Get the Same Results at Half the Cost

Blueprint Cleanse and Diet

Do you know there’s one simple method for putting on muscle or losing fat? It’s not some secret formula. It’s simply knowing the amount of maintenance calories your body needs each day.

Using this piece of knowledge will let your hard-fought efforts show. Yet, with the many ways to calculate your starting number too many people often miss the mark.

The BluePrint Cleanse is an ultra-hip detox program celebrities use to slim down and get red-carpet ready. It uses the power of juicing to reset the body and can be delivered right to your door. Just carry around the bottles and you’re good to go. Sounds great, huh?

Blueprint Cleanse Cost

The price? Just $65 a day, for a round of six juices. Yikes! Exactly. That’s almost $11 per bottle.

I believe it’s a good product, but there is a way to get the same results from this program without that massive expense. We Think. You Drink. Written on every bottle. Didn’t Stalin say that in a speech once?

I know I might like to be a bit more involved with my eating plan than most people, but this tagline irks me. Maybe it’s just my natural sarcastic side peeking out, but it reads like a slap in the face to me. Why put up with their abuse, psychologically and financially?
I’ve outlined recipes in this post to help you match the benefits of the regimen. And you don’t even need a juicing machine.

How to Make the BluePrint Cleanse at Home

One of the premises of the BPC is to help turn your body from acidic to alkaline with raw juices. The BPC juices are designed to supply you with “vitamins, minerals and enzymes that are quickly absorbed and easy to assimilate.”

One thing I think the BPC has going for it is they deliver your daily supply right to your door every morning. But I can’t help but feel a little awkward about letting the $65 just sit out on my doorstep.

With the BPC, the goal is to rest your system with six 16 ounce bottles a day, for however long you choose.

The three levels of dedication are:

Renovation Cleanse – Generally this is where the beginner may want to start.

Foundation Cleanse – Ready to for a more challenging method? This is it.

Excavation Cleanse – This sounds terrifying.

Now, you don’t need to go spending a few hundred dollars on a juice machine to make your own juice at home. But you’d probably spend that much if you were to stick with the BluePrint Cleanse for a week. No kidding!

For the basic package, Renovation, you’re looking at putting down $65 a day. Five days worth is $325. You can get away with a blender and a paint-strainer pouch in the beginning. Save yourself some money.

Update: Since writing this post, I finally broke down and purchased a juicer. Yes, it was time to simply give into convenience. However, I do recommend the beginner try out juicing first before going all-out and committing to a machine they will never use.

The one I’ll focus on in this post will be the Renovation Cleanse, which is a total of drinking six juices a day. The Green Juice is how you open the program, and repeated one more time during the day. The order of juices are: Green Juice, P.A.M., Green Juice, Spicy Lemonade, C.A.R. and Cashew Milk.

Blueprint Cleanse Recipes

Green Juice

The first juice of the day is the Green Juice. This is six pounds of leafy wonder packed into this powerful selection of celery, cucumber, green apple, kale, lemon, parsley, romaine and spinach. This is easily replicated like the other juices as well. For the same 16 ounces, gather organically-grown:

  • 5 Ribs of Celery
  • 1 Cucumber, Halved
  • 2 Large Green Apples of Your Choice
  • 3 Kale leafs
  • 1 Ounce of Lemon juice
  • 1 Handful of Parsley
  • 3 Romaine leafs
  • 1 Handful of Spinach (Don’t be shy. It doesn’t bite.)

Blend the ingredients together with a bit of water. This is to aid in loosening everything together, but not to change the consistency. When draining the mixture, use the pouch to catch the fiber, as we are only interested in the juice part. Make sure you press out all the juice. Fill that glass!

P.A.M.

The next juice in the series is P.A.M or Pineapple, Apple and Mint. This is a great combination of flavors: light and just the right amount of sweetness. This is one that is hard not to chug it down all at once. With the simple list of ingredients, it’s just a matter or getting the right measure correct. I’ve found luck with using about:

  • A Third of 1 Pineappple
  • 2 Large Green Apples of Your Choice
  • A few pinches of Mint, to taste

One thing to consider with mint is it’s a strong flavor, and can easily overpower the other two ingredients, so it’s important to start off with a little bit and then add in more depending on how much you want.

Spicy Lemonade

The Spicy Lemonade might at first seem like at bad flashback for anyone who’s tried to stick with the Master Cleanse diet, which really makes you drink lemonade all-day-long. But with the BluePrint Cleanse, this is everything you love about lemonade with a slight kick. They’ve paired cayenne pepper and agave together for a great drink.

  • 14 ounces of Filtered Water
  • 3-4 juiced medium Lemons
  • A few Dashes of Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon of Agave Nectar

If you don’t have a jar of agave nectar in the cupboard, don’t fret. You can substitute it with honey. The agave will yield a sweeter batch that the honey just can’t match.

C.A.R.

C.A.R. is the acronym for apple, beet, carrot, ginger and lemon. To get this simply mix:

  • 1 Green Apple of Your Choice
  • 2 Beet, with the greens left on
  • 3 Large Carrots
  • 1 and 1/2 Tablespoon of Ginger
  • A 1/2 ounce of Lemon Juice (to taste)

Cashew Milk

Oh, nuts! Crafting this excellent source of fat and protein takes a bit longer than the rest, and requires a bit of planning. You’ll want to soak them in water for about eight hours. Here’s a great method for making your own cashew milk

  • 4-5 ounces of Raw Cashews
  • 16 ounces of Filtered water
  • 1 Tablespoon of Agave Nectar
  • 1 teaspoon of Cinnamon (ground)
  • 1 two-inch piece of Vanilla Bean (or 1 teaspoon of extract)

Blueprint Diet and Body Type

What do you want to take away from your workouts? Sticking to a body type diet is important if you want to realistically reach your goals in the shortest amount of time possible. This goes for building volume to the muscles, or if cutting away the fat that’s somehow parked itself on your belly.

There are three different category body types that you should want to understand: Ectomorph, Endomorph and Mesomorph. Knowing which of the ones you fall in will help with meeting your own expectations and smashing right through them for success.

Take Caffeine with Your BPC Drink

As Martin Berkhan from LeanGains points out, “As far as fat burners go, there’s nothing legal left worth buying ‘cept caffeine pills.”

If you’re like me and get too jittery with lots of caffeine alone, take caffeine and L-theanine pills for smoother energy.
