The world is a crazy place, and life is stressful. It’s important to take time for yourself. Headspace is an app that is full of meditations and mindfulness exercises intended to help you relax, focus, improve sleep, and more. There are loads of different meditations and courses to choose from, in a variety of themes.
For example, there are meditations geared toward families and children. There is a nature-themed course that includes a mindful nature walk. I would recommend starting with the Basics Course. This course introduces you the fundamentals of meditation and mindfulness in short sessions. In the app, you have the ability to add the exercises that you find most helpful to your Favorites list, allowing you to easily find them again.
As someone that deals with a lot of anxiety and stress, I particularly appreciate the many stress related courses, meditations, activities, and videos. Meditation has proven to be one of the best ways for me center myself in times of stress. Mindfulness exercises, such as focusing only on my breath, have helped me to calm down when I’ve been at my most anxious. I’ve also been enjoying starting out my days with a meditation. It puts me in a better mood as I move forward through my day, and I seem to be better able to tolerate more stress without getting overwhelmed.
After using the Headspace app for a couple of months now, I can say that I do recommend it and have found it helpful in managing stress and improving my mood. Meditation is easy to add to your routine, and can have a lot of benefits.
