Benefits of Uridine Supplements
Uridine promotes healthy cognitive functioning and memory. One study measured cognitive performance improvements over twelve weeks.
This supplement may also promote a healthy mood, although results vary per individual.
Uridine Monophosphate Dosage
Start with 250mg to see if desired results are achieved. If you do not feel the effects after two hours, then try another 250mg. Do not exceed more than two 250mg capsules daily.
Synergistic Supplements
DHA, found in fish oil supplements, is recommended alongside uridine, as is a choline source. Fish oils with higher DHA levels are preferable.
Choline is absorbed from dietary sources, such as eggs, but alpha-GPC is best as it’s the most efficient source of choline supplementation.
Although scientific evidence seems sparse, there are reports of uridine either reducing caffeine tolerance or potentiating the effects of caffeine. However, this isn’t the case for everyone.
Curator’s Notes
Uridine is a great supplement to start your day if you seek to promote healthy dopamine receptor functioning. Taking uridine helped me reduce stimulant intake without sacrificing motivation. The caffeine potentiation also worked for me. Taking DHA along with UMP (uridine monophosphate) is recommended. I take this with my vitamins in the morning so haven’t tested uridine without DHA. Choline is also recommended as part of the uridine stack. However, I haven’t noticed a difference in effectiveness with or without either alpha-GPC or CDP choline.
